While we’re huge fans of fashion week, it’s not always what’s going down the runway that’s the most intriguing. The audience and the street style outside can be just as inspiring! Here are some of our favorite looks from this season’s NYFW.
At Carolina Herrera, we loved Michelle Dockery’s coordinated and classic blue ensemble; the metallic clutch and pumps add a contemporary edge. Dita Von Teese’s jade silk blouse fits perfectly with her alabaster complexion and deep red lips.
Are you excited about Phillip Lim’s collection for Target? We can’t wait to try out the mini versions of his iconic Pashli satchel. Maria Sharapova, Jessica Alba and Solange Knowles were all present to celebrate with the designer, modeling the fun designs. His spring 2014 collection is incredible too.
Emmy Rossum was polished in a DKNY gold dress to celebrate Donna Karan’s 25th NY anniversary. Rita Ora joined the party in culottes and a white blazer before performing for the crowd.
New editor-in-chief of Lucky Magazine, Eva Chen, was immaculate in a mint green Proenza Schouler dress. Paired with a Kenzo bag and Prada sunglasses, she was both fresh and sophisticated. Chen’s first Lucky issue, with Blake Lively on the cover, looks to have revived the publication. Said Chen to the New York Times, “A great find is a great find, and I want to help people find the best of the best”.
Not everyone was rocking the tailored fits, however. Victoria Beckham and Christina Ricci were spotted playing around with proportions, in drop-waisted dresses and oversized structures.
At Zac Posen’s Ready To Wear show, Stacy Keibler wowed in a leather midi dress. Kelly Osbourne wore an emerald green hourglass dress, completed with a ladylike cream handbag. Despite her now trademark purple hair, the look was ladylike chic.
The shoes of the season, Valentino’s rockstuds, were seen at Karen Walker’s show, on Katie Cassidy. We loved her otherwise low-key look, of graphic sweater and slouchy pants. Ashley Greene opted for the leather trend, at Kaufmanfranco.
Rashida Jones was perhaps our favorite celebrity sighting, however. We loved all of the many ensembles she was seen in, but here are the best. An embellished mini-skirt and tank top clash in the most perfect way, while at Thakoon she played with texture, in a chunky knit and feminine jacquard skirt. Her clutches and pointed heels were spot on, as well. Simply gorgeous!
