Cocktails and Cocktail Rings

Ritani cocktail and cocktail rings

What goes better with a delicious cocktail than a fabulous statement cocktail ring? Women of the Prohibition era looked for larger-than-life statement rings to complement their drinks and they’ve been referred to as “cocktail rings” ever since. With New Year’s Eve right around the corner, we’re looking forward to pairing our favorite statement cocktail rings with our favorite cocktail drinks. Here at Ritani, we are experts in both jewelry and craft cocktails, so we’ve gathered our favorite drinks to share, along with the ring to pair with it. Cheers!

Ring: Roberto Coin Princess Flower Diamond Ring | Cocktail: Caipirinha craft cocktail recipe courtesy of Imbibe

Brazil’s national drink, the Caipirinha, features Cachaça, a distilled spirit made from sugarcane juice. Although the real origins of the Caipirinha are unknown, it may have been created around 1918 in the state of São Paulo for patients with the Spanish flu. This refreshing beverage can be sweetened to your liking and served over ice while you sip on the beach. It tastes so good you’ll feel like you’re on a vacation!

Ingredients Preparation
½ a lime, cut into quarters
1–2 tsp. superfine sugar
2 oz. cachaça
In a shaker, muddle fresh limes with sugar. Add cachaça and ice cubes and shake. Pour, unstrained, into a chilled glass.

The Roberto Coin Princess Flower ring with diamonds would look stunning when paired with the lime-green tones of this cocktail. This sugary-sweet beverage complements the feminine florals in this cocktail ring.

Cosmo Cocktail

Ritani Black Onyx Cabochon Diamond Ring and Cosmopolitan craft cocktail recipe
Ring: Black Onyx Cabochon Diamond Halo Ring | Cocktail: Cosmopolitan cocktail recipe courtesy of

The exact origins of the Cosmo are a bit hazy, there are several ideas about where the Cosmo came from: a gin version first appeared in print in the 1930s, then in the 1970s, several independent bartenders separately recreated the drink with vodka. The cosmopolitan gained popularity in the 1990s because of its frequent appearance on Sex and the City. This beautifully bright cocktail is a favorite for its citrus taste.

Ingredients Preparation
1.5 oz. Citrus vodka
1 oz. Cointreau
½ fresh lime juice
1–2 dashes cranberry juice
Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain the mixture into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.

The Cosmo deserves panache and style, so we suggest a modern Black Onyx Cabochon Ring. The whimsical rose gold trim that surrounds the deep black stone is unique without being over-the-top, just like the Cosmopolitan.
