I went with my fiancé, Louis, to a local New York jeweler, which turned out to be a Ritani representative in January of 2013 to look around and get some ideas. I found ‘the one’ while browsing around, and he agreed that it was special. Little did I know, that 2 weeks later Louis was going to return to make a purchase.
On June 21, 2014 we went on a day trip to see the Brooklyn Bridge with two friends of ours, another couple. My friend and I planned on placing pad locks on the bridge like they do in Paris; these ‘love locks’ symbolize unbreakable love. We all went to a local drug store and purchased the locks, put our initials and dating anniversary on them, and started our journey toward the bridge.
June 21st of 2014 – the Solstice – is my favorite day of the year, seeing as I am a summer baby. The long days of beautiful sunshine have always brought me joy; this day was no different. Finally, we reached the bridge and we found a spot to place them. Our friends placed theirs, and as I turned to Louis for ours, I saw it was not the cheap little drug store lock that we had just purchased.
He was holding a giant pink lock, engraved with “Will you marry me?” on one side, and had our song, “Everything” by Michael Bublé, on the other. Breathless, I obviously said yes! Then he gave me the whole back-story on my beautiful Ritani Masterwork Cushion Halo diamond “V” ring.
This ring means more to me then anything. It symbolizes the love he has for me, to get me the best gift any man can give a woman, his heart. We plan on getting married in the fall of 2017 and cannot wait to spend the rest of forever as Mr & Mrs.
