Chicago Med Star Torrey DeVitto is Engaged to Director Jared LaPine—See Her Gorgeous Ring!

Actress Torrey DeVitto, known for her role as Dr. Natalie Manning on the medical TV series Chicago Med from 2015 to 2021, shared on Instagram that filmmaker Jared LaPine proposed earlier this month during a romantic woodland stroll. 

About the Couple

The couple, who dated for six months before getting engaged, were introduced through DeVitto’s cousin. In addition to her role on Chicago Med, Devitto has starred in multiple TV series, including One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, and Pretty Little Liars. Her most recent on-screen appearance was in the Hallmark movie titled Love’s Greek to Me. Originally hailing from Long Island, New York, the actress was previously married to actor and The Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley from 2011 to 2013. She is also the daughter of Liberty DeVitto, Billy Joel's longtime drummer. 

Jared LaPine is a filmmaker in the entertainment industry. He is credited with creating the 2019 short film The One That Likes You, featuring Lukas Gage, as indicated on his Instagram. Additionally, his IMDb profile reveals his prior roles as a production assistant on various TV shows, including his work as a production assistant and assistant production coordinator on the Disney Channel series' Dog With A Blog, I Didn’t Do It, and K.C. Undercover, which starred Zendaya. 

The Proposal

DeVitto shared that the memorable moment occurred in early September at 5 p.m. on a weekday while strolling the back trails at her farm. She was still in her pajamas and wearing goat boots when he dropped down on one knee, presenting her with an ample radiant-cut diamond engagement ring—she hoped there was no poison ivy around. His question was met with an obvious "yes" from her. To celebrate this exciting day, the star posted three endearing pictures of herself and her fiancé. One image captured the couple with their arms wrapped around each other; another showed LaPine kissing her cheek; and the third featured DeVitto laughing as they walked in the woods. DeVitto's announcement follows the confirmation of her engagement in early September. At that time, she shared a black-and-white photo of the couple together on Instagram, accompanied by a simple heart emoji caption, although she didn't reveal her ring. DeVitto initially made her relationship with LaPine public on Instagram back in June, posting pictures of them enjoying a sunny day in a Michigan poppy field. LaPine also shared a photo of the two on his Instagram with the caption, "Enter cheesy/sappy line here," to which DeVitto replied in the caption, "I love us."
