Emeralds

Emeralds are a variety of the mineral beryl, colored green by trace amounts of chromium and sometimes vanadium. They are one of the four precious gemstones, along with diamonds, sapphires, and rubies.

Emeralds are graded based on their color, clarity, cut, and carat weight. The most valuable emeralds have a rich green color, good clarity, and an excellent cut. Clean emeralds with mild soap and water, and gently dry them with a soft cloth. It’s also a good idea to store emerald jewelry separately to prevent scratching.

Emerald prices vary based on color, clarity, cut, and carat weight. The rarity of a vivid green color and the presence of fewer inclusions will generally result in higher prices.
