7 Easy At-Home Date Night Ideas You'll Love

7 easy at home date night ideas youll love

While many places across the globe begin to attempt a reopening, others are still stuck in lockdown, forced to continue searching for creative ways to keep relationships fresh at home.

Date nights used to be a beautiful evening of dressing up, dining out, and overwhelming romance, but now we must carry out our lives indoors. However, you can still create a memorable date night from the safety of your own home!

1. Eat Take-Out By Candlelight.

Support a local business and enjoy a delicious meal with your significant other by getting take-out. Add some flair to your dining room table with a tablecloth, candles, and fancy dinner plates. Pick up a nice bottle of wine while you’re at it, too! If your local liquor stores don’t offer delivery or curbside pickup, try Drizly, which allows you to order wine online (or in the app) to get dropped off at your house.

Getting take-out can be an intimate and enjoyable experience – after all, it’s just you and your significant other with no one around to bother you.

2. Make Dinner or Dessert Together.

Boost your cooking or baking skills – why not try making a new dish neither of you have had before? Making a meal with your sweetheart is really fun, and it’s much easier when done as a team. Crank up the music and get cooking!

3. Paint With Watercolors.

You don’t have to be a talented artist to appreciate the therapeutic aspect of painting. It’s a great way to relax and boost your creativity. Watercolor paints are also inexpensive, so this is a great date night idea if you’re on a budget. Turn the evening into a Paint and Sip for a little extra fun!

4. Create An At-Home Picnic.

If you have a backyard, a picnic is a great way to spend a nice afternoon (or evening!). A meal outside will be a nice change of pace from your kitchen table. Take a portable speaker with you and grab a lantern for an evening picnic.

5. Ask Each Other Questions.

Take this time to learn something new about your significant other. Come up with your own questions individually, or find a list online of interesting things to ask. You may be surprised at what you discover about your partner!

6. Play Mini Golf.

Mini golf courses may be closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them at home. Spend your afternoon or evening creating your own mini-golf course indoors or in your backyard. You don’t even need to build anything – just get creative and use common household items as obstacles! You can order a mini-golf club set online.

7. Couples’ Game Night.

Call up your friends for a double-date game night! There are so many games that you can play together over Zoom or FaceTime, like Scribbl, an online drawing & guessing game. You can also play card games online here

Or download the app Houseparty which allows you to video chat with up to 8 people and play games like Heads Up, Chips & Guac, Trivia, and more.
