What To Do If You Have To Postpone Your Wedding Due To COVID-19
Written by Katy Eriks at The Groomsman Suit
First of all, we are so sorry that you’ve had to postpone your wedding. We know the decision could not have been easy. But, that doesn’t mean that your new wedding plans can’t be even better than before. A new wedding date gives you something to look forward to, and don’t we all need that right now? If you’ve had to postpone your wedding plans, here are a few tips to make the transition easier.
Contact your wedding vendors to discuss your options for refunding and rescheduling. Venues are working with couples whose wedding dates are affected by finding new wedding dates later this year or in 2021, offering options for smaller ceremonies, or providing a refund upon full cancellations. If you’re having trouble landing a new date, consider a Thursday, Friday, or Sunday. Guests will be excited for a long weekend and you may end up saving.
Consider getting married with just your officiant present or host a small celebration with your immediate family and maybe a few close friends. Depending on where you live, small groups may be allowed to gather again so you can still have your parents, siblings, best man and maid of honor by your side. For the rest of your guests, set up a Facebook Live or Zoom call so they can attend virtually.
Continue your planning from home and find ways to save. For wedding dresses, Floravere is offering styles for 40% off that are ready to ship or place an order for an at home trial from Grace and Ivory. Check out flower arrangement samples from Something Borrowed Blooms for just $40. And, curate an awesome and unique registry on Zola. If a business didn’t have online options before, they certainly have them now as the industry has had to pivot as a result of COVD-19.
At The Groomsman Suit, we are encouraging couples to take advantage of their online shopping options. Our online services including free fabric swatches, a free home trial, an online fit finder (with no measurements required!), and our wedding group coordinator allow you to plan this aspect of your wedding completely from home. We also offer virtual consultations if you want to discuss one on one how the process works and get help with your wedding style. As a result of the stay at home orders and couples postponing their weddings we extended our 30 day return policy for grooms and groomsmen who needed to send back items now and reorder at a later date. We are also fully stocked and our production has not been interrupted. We are shipping all orders within 48 hours and would love to help groups get suited up! Contact us today and let us know how we can help you plan your best day!
