Congratulations, you’re engaged! Not sure what’s next? Here are 6 things to do now that you’ve said “yes.”

#1. Share the good news.

Etiquette experts agree that before you share your engagement on social media, make sure to share the good news with your family and close friends first. This will save from hurt feelings – some may be upset to learn about your engagement on social media rather than straight from you.

Once you’ve shared the exciting news with your inner circle, it’s safe to post about your engagement on social media.

#2. Get a manicure (if you haven’t already).

Everyone will want to look at your new bling, so make sure to get a manicure. If you plan on getting a manicure with a design, try sticking with simpler designs in order to not distract from the beauty of your ring. A French manicure, pink nail polish, white nail polish, or nude nail polish is a classic just-engaged choice. Check out our favorite engagement manicures here.

#3. Get your ring insured.

It’s important to protect your engagement ring with jewelry insurance. Jewelry insurance will cover your ring in the event of loss, theft, damage, and more. While your homeowner’s policy may cover jewelry, it is often extremely limited and rarely covers the full value of the ring. Jewelry insurance is generally quite affordable and 100% worth it.

#4. Take engagement photos.

They don’t have to be professional – even if it’s just photos taken on an iPhone, get a friend or family member to capture your newly engaged bliss. These photos can also be used for your Save the Dates or wedding website! Discover engagement photo ideas here.

#5.  Start getting inspired.
